What being a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards means for You Legal

It’s a really busy and exciting time for us here at You Legal! On Friday 11 September, The Advertiser announced You Legal as a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards. I have been touched by the numerous messages of support that I have received over the weekend and struck by how many people are gunning for us to take You Legal to the next level. I am super excited & honoured to be named alongside some awesome and inspirational businesswomen, and inspired by realising how many of my business idols and mentors whose potential as future leaders was recognized so early on in their careers by these Awards in the past.

Usually, I blog about the law on this blog & leave my personal insights for my blog on Inspiring Rare Birds but I also got pretty personal recently with Timbo Reid in Australia’s #1 marketing podcast Small Business, Big Marketing. Dynamic Business recently profiled You Legal, if you have time read the article because it’s a perfect summary of how and why we do what we do. For lawyers, we aim to release them from the tyranny of the time-sheet by providing a flexible way to work & for clients we aim to provide value for money access to top-tier legal talent. I feel so motivated to build You Legal, as we have discovered a way to unlock previously untapped top tier talent and make it directly available to our clients, and what I am discovering as we make this journey is that a top tier lawyer who serves just a few key clients and has lots of time otherwise to lead a fulfilling and balanced life can give a different type of service, which many of our clients are now raving about.

In two weeks’ You Legal will be rolling out national contact details as announced by here Lawyer's Weekly. In November my first book How to Avoid a Fall from Grace: Legal Lessons for Directors will be available, it is a guidebook for all directors to help them navigate the modern corporate world.
