Frequently Asked Questions
If you are considering engaging You Legal to prepare a Licence Agreement for use with Allied Health Professionals, here’s what you need to know:
What’s Included in the Agreement?
In non-legal language, it’s a Room Rental Agreement. In legal language, the document is a Licence that includes definitions of terms, details of the Licensor and Licensee, the relevant terms and conditions of the licence, the licence fee payable, and the permitted use of the Premises, which may or may not, for example, include use of the lunchroom in your practice.
How will this Agreement Benefit me as a Landlord?
This agreement will benefit you if you’re looking to license or rent out a part of your practice to an allied health professional who could be, but is not limited to, a dietician, psychologist, podiatrist, or massage therapist. The Licence Agreement outlines the terms and conditions of the licence and provides a clear understanding of what is expected from both parties during the term of the licence or rental arrangement.
Who is this Agreement Intended for?
This agreement is intended for a practice owner or practice manager who is planning on, or has granted an allied health professional a licence to occupy a part of their premises on certain terms, and wishes to formalise the arrangement for the avoidance of doubt.
Is the Agreement easy to use and understand?
Yes, the agreement is designed to be user-friendly and easy to understand.
Can I Customise the Agreement to Suit my Needs?
Yes, our lawyers will discuss your needs and customise the Licence Agreement to suit you. You can then use it as a template for other allied health professionals that are renting rooms within your practice, making it an investment in your business.
Does this Licence Agreement Include any Services our Practice might offer to an Allied Health Professional?
This Licence Agreement is purely for a room rental - it does not include services, like reception services, access to practice management software or internet, or nursing staff. If your arrangement requires services, You Legal suggests you look at this Fast Track Solution: Practitioner Services Agreement (for Allied Health Professionals)
What else do I need to be aware of that I may not have thought about?
Some Leases require the landlord’s consent before a Licence or Room Rental Agreement is entered into. You Legal will check your Lease as part of the scope of this engagement and explain the steps you need to take (if any) to engage with another business in this way.
What is included in the Fast Track Solution?
The above price is inclusive of the finalised Agreement and the process of getting there. From providing us with the information to making sure you understand it and making the changes you request to getting your finalised template Agreement. It also includes checking of the Lease if applicable, as mentioned in more detail above.
For more details on the exact process and what’s included, see the ‘Once you purchase this Agreement’ section above.
